Aboriginal Dot Art Painting (Pointillism)

This is a Converse show that I decided to do for my pointillism project because I have been trying to work in a shoe picture into my portfolio all year. I was planning on doing this with paint, but sadly my parents threw away all of my paint which forced me to do it in pen considering I hadn't previously finished my painting in class I decided to go ahead and do it in ink.

Stained Glass Window

This stained glass window is designed to look like the Nike symbol. The straight edge designs were influenced by my most recent pair of tennis shoes. I was going to originally cut out a lot of small circles in the middle of the Nike symbol and contrast the two different shape areas with hot and cold colors but there wasn't enough of those colors to continue with my plans.

Plaster Subtractive Sculpture

I would have to say that this was my favorite project to do for the entire school year. It is a rook chess piece that was sculpted out of a block of plaster. My original sketch was a king but later I decided to make a rook considering it has always been my favorite chess piece for some unknown reason.

Metal Tooling

This is a picture of an eye. The eye is one of the most detailed structures on  a human body as well as the most visually appealing. Being Able to work  on something so detailed on such a foreign material was a task that was unusual although at the same time I thoroughly enjoyed it. Adding several other textures to the mix was an interesting way of  adding details that aren't usually associated with the original structure.

Bas Relief

This was inspired by my obsession with polar bears. When you think about the cold climate they live in, some of the only architecture that you can find is igloos. This was fairly simple even though I should have added more than one layer to add even more dimension. Adding the different colors around each of the ice blocks was used to give it a little more dimension than  what was originally there.

Kaleidoscope

This was a long process to create. going from drawing designs on one eighth of a piece of paper, then transferring it to the one fourth size, and then finally transferring it four times in each of the corners to create the kaleidoscope design. although it was supposed to be painted it would be very hard considering all of the small shapes and designs.

Tempera Batik

I have always had a profound love of animals and nature in my art. One of the flashiest animals at the zoo are some of the first ones you see which  are flamingos. Like many of my original designs to he product it changed along the way. I was originally going to do two but that somehow changed into what it is now. The color scheme that was chosen was  to pop out the focal point while still having a vibrant background.

Zentangle

this was originally going to be the practice for the bigger zentangle project by using my hands but it turned out to be the actual thing. I started and I couldn't stop. I found a certain relaxation in doing this. finding all of the different designs and being able to do  them neatly with a sharpie was intimidating but I  do like the way that it turned out.
